Apple Likely to Unveil M4 MacBook Air in March

Following the successful launch of the iPhone 16e, Apple is reportedly gearing up for another major announcement. According to noted Apple analyst Mark Gurman, the tech giant is expected to unveil a new MacBook Air powered by the M4 chip as early as March. Although the official launch date hasn’t been confirmed, it’s anticipated soon, aligning with the timeline of last year’s M3 MacBook Air debut. Recent reports also indicate that shipments for the new MacBooks may already be underway, suggesting an imminent release.

The upcoming MacBook Air is expected to offer minor refinements, with the standout upgrade being the integration of the powerful M4 chip. Rumors suggest the base model could ship with 16GB of RAM, and Apple may enhance connectivity by upgrading existing USB 4 or Thunderbolt 3 ports to Thunderbolt 4. Other potential additions include the Center Stage camera feature and an optional nano-texture display, both already seen in other M4-equipped Macs.

The MacBook Air is anticipated to launch in March, followed by the rollout of iOS 18.4 in May, and the annual WWDC 2025 event in June. Apple is also expected to refresh several other devices this year, including the M4 Mac Studio and M4 Mac Pro, likely arriving in the summer. Meanwhile, early speculation points to the debut of the M5 chip in the MacBook Pro between October and November, with an M5-powered iPad Pro possibly launching in early 2026.

Beyond the Mac lineup, Apple has more products in the pipeline for 2025. A second-generation AirTag with improved Bluetooth range is expected, along with a new iPad Air and a refreshed 11-inch iPad in the first half of the year. In the latter half, updates to the HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K are also anticipated.
